Now on view outside UIMA: Cicada Parade-a

We are excited to be part of this community art project titled Cicada Parade-a as part of Chicago's 2024 Cicada Art Project. This project aims to celebrate the re-emergence of Broods XIII and XIX, Illinois' 17-year and 13-year cicada broods, through a large-scale collaborative art installation. The Cicada Parade-a will features a series of captivating cicada sculptures created by esteemed artists Elena Diadenko and Elena Pach. These sculptures will be displayed in and around Chicago from May through the end of summer 2024.

By showcasing the beauty and significance of the cicadas' re-emergence, we hope to inspire reflection on themes of renewal, resilience, and interconnectedness.

These works will be on view through Labor Day weekend.
