With the proliferation of electron-microscopic imagery, we have access to astoundingly beautiful, strange, and almost alien worlds. It is fascinating to imagine walking on a head of a pin or plowing through the hairs of a leaf like you’re walking through a jungle. And it is even more amazing to realize how all these infinitely tiny realities affect us, the large lumbering creatures in them. As we are experiencing today, though microscopic creatures are unseen, they can hurt us physically and topple societal structures. These sculptures are a creative interpretation of the strange, repulsive and beautiful world of parasites/bacteria.
