Ihor Dmytruk

Ihor Dmytruk immigrated to Canada from Ukraine in 1949. He attended the University of Alberta, as well as the Vancouver School of Art until 1963. 

He resides in Edmonton, briefly living in Montreal between 1967 and 1968, where he devoted his time purely to painting. He has exhibited in many solo and group shows, including at the Visions Gallery in Edmonton during 1992, and at the Extension Centre Gallery, University of Alberta, in 2006. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Canada Council Arts Grant for 1972 and 1974.

Dmytruk taught art at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology between 1964 and 1973, and taught art in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta for many years. He continues to reside in Canada.
