Rematerialization is very important to my work. The materials and processes I use are natural, I do not want to bring more uncalculated waste into the world. I developed a casting material that is hemp-based to be carbon negative, playing off the contemporary cliché of sustainability ‘HempRock’ was born. It’s my substitute for quarried stone, using it for modern monoliths that are markers of pollution. The HempRock series is about carbon footprints, how every individual is followed by that shadow, a shadow that will live on long after they are dead.
