Third Stream, live at the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art is a trio, composed by Leandro Lopez-Varady. Accompanied by Kevyn Miller, acoustic bass, as well as Ernie Adams, drums. Leandro Lopez-Varady titled the CD “Third Stream,” a term first coined by Gunther Schuller (1925-2015) to define a style in which Jazz and Classical music are combined in a deep sense, creating a new musical form. in Lopez-Varady’s approach to the compositions, he combined traditional Ukrainian music with Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and Argentinean rhythms.
